I am jealous of all the people who are snoring and dreaming away to glory right now. I should be sleeping too, but I am as active as a hare. It’s going to kill me tomorrow. I’ve tried the pills, them herbs, yoga, walks, boring books, counting to a million, tequila shots (Not worth the headache I have to go through the next day), tiring myself till every cell in me stops functioning, not taking naps during the day and everything that I could possibly think of.
I am insomniac.
I am not depressed or stressed or worried or have some ailment or anything. I have a steady job(And a couple more offers just in case). I have a clear idea where I am headed to. I do not have too many friends, but I am not really worried. I was never a gregarious person and I enjoy being left alone. I have no bad drinking habits.Everything is functioning as it should normally do.I think I am just another normal guy. But I do not understand why I am not sleeping. Could this be another phase in life where I simply would not sleep? Am I stressed and I do not know about it?
Sigh, I wish I could sleep.

You should watch the movie "Peaceful Warrior"(I think it's based on a true story). It's a great movie and perhaps would do you some good. It's mostly relevant to Buddhism. And maybe you will know then the reason for your insomnia.
I read books where a lot of protagonists had trouble sleeping. I think they were of your age. Perhaps its just a phase. You didn't mention running on the treadmill or doing some sit ups on your list of "everything i tried."
p.s: If that's your room, those starbucks coffee aint gonna do you no good.
@ Kinga : Thanks for the recommendation. I will watch it.
@ Anon : Thank you. I wish it's just a phase and that I can sleep like normal. I ran some miles on the treadmill today :)
I start my day with a cup of coffee and that's about it. I do not drink tea or coffee in the afternoons.
By reading thru all the information u have written about urself, i dont think the insomnia is precipated by stress or any worries.
My suggestions :
1. Take hot baths near bedtime.
2. Dont retire to bed until u feel u are really sleepy. dont just lie on the bed if u arent sleepy.
3. Most important is cultivating a good sleep hygiene...wake up at the same time of the day, avoid daytime naps, regular meal times.
4. maintain a good and comfortable sleeping condition.
5. dont just go into taking over the counter drugs for sleep.i dont think u are already on longterm medications.
I think these info u must have already found at the click of the mouse. just wrote down in case u didnt know yet. thats wat i learnt.
see if these helps..lets see wat can be done if that doesnt help..
Hey! What's up Lobxang? Missing your posts. Hope you're ok. You sounded kinda sad on your facebook wall.
